Alcee Hastings said this during a House Rules Meeting today in defense of the Democrats’ health care approach: “All this talk about rules. We make them up as we go along.” It should be noted that in 1981, Hastings was charged with accepting a $150,000 bribe in exchange for a lenient sentence. Hastings was impeached for bribery and perjury becoming only the sixth federal judge in the history of the United States to be removed from office by the Senate. He’s still making the rules as he goes along.
