Rather than follow that up with reasonable legislation, Pelosi and Reid made opposing the Iraq War their sole issue going 24/7 on it. They misread the public, the military and their own members. Which is why this may be a long September for the Democratic Congress. Oh and yes, the No. 3 Democrat in the House, James Clyburn, was absolutely right when he said good news from Iraq would be “a very real problem for us.” Nice corner Pelosi and company painted the Democrats in.
