As Glenn points out and links, government looking at fining a woman for watching another's kids before the school bus arrives? They aren't nuts, they're just making it so no one but the state can be involved in child care while consistently eroding the bonds of family. Whether by overall design or not, the only destination for such misguided thought is the state, only the state and everything for the state. This is dangerous stuff slipping by mostly under the radar with out people putting the pieces together. Call it the slippery slope to tyranny, or not. But it's an undeniable, alarming trend driven by statists who couch themselves as representatives of the people.
