Google Climategate Hole

Here's what Google auto-complete continues to look like on "climateg". "climate g" is equally useless as is "climate em". Yahoo auto-complete is fine except for "climateg". Bing is OK now only for "climateg" but not for "climate g" or "climate em".

When you go ahead with the search you get results on all of these from 6 - 60M hits. So there's little chance the auto-complete failure isn't due to manual over-ride. Certainly on Google anyway.

And yes, the same is true if you use the Firefox search field.

WattsUpWithThat now claims that "climateg" finally works on Google. Not for me yet.

yonason (12:07:03) :

Now entering “clim” on google turns up “climategate” as the first suggestion, right above “climate change”

Maybe it just takes a while?

It first appeared in their autocomplete suggestion list about a week ago when the hits got up to about 20,000 if I recall correctly. It was in the list until three days ago when they censored it. Then the news broke all over the web (many thanks to Anthony!) and they put it back in for a while yesterday. Then they removed it again but now it is back in for me, though I have received reports from other countries that it is still missi[ng].
